June is here and there is always something going on. Vacations, Father's Day, and Weddings. Of course for some of us just time to stop and think. Seems my mind stays cluttered with thoughts. Should I do this, try this, buy this, what do people want. Not to mention thoughts of I really should be cleaning my house or working in the yards! But here I sit trying to figure out what do people really want in a candle, what scent do they want, do they want melts, container candles, pillar candles, votives, tea lights ???? I guess that is something all candle makers would like to know. It is always great to hear feedback as to what a customer wants or how they liked their purchase. I welcome all feedback - did you like your candle, did you like the scent, did it burn good for you.
Of course when asking about the burn of a candle and the scent throw there are several things to consider. Always be sure to burn your container candle and pillar candle on an average of 4 hours at a time. If you don't your candle will tunnel and eventually stop burning. A votive doesn't have to burn as long. Just be sure whatever you are burning you get a good melt pool - that is the candle has become liquid - about out to the edge. Air conditioning can have an effect on the scent throw of your candle. Also you never want to have your pillar candle sitting under a ceiling fan, it will cause your candle to burn uneven and eventually the hot liquid will overflow. These are just a few things to remember. Of course everyone knows to never leave a burning candle unattended. I also burn all my container candles on a candle plate and my pillar candles in an appropriate pillar plate. Votives should always be burned in a proper votive holder because as the votive burns it becomes liquid. Don't forget to burn your tea lights in an appropriate holder for tea light candles.
